June 1, 2012

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Training and practicing plastic surgeons now have access to a comprehensive new study tool in “Plastic Surgery Review: A Study Guide for the In Service, Written Board, and Maintenance of Certification Exams.”

The compact review book published this month by Thieme Publishers. Written by Gregory E. Lakin, MD, Chief, Pediatric Plastic Surgery, University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, Plastic Surgery Review covers all topics that appear on initial certification and recertification exams by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

“Three years in the making, Plastic Surgery Review was a true labor of love for the study and practice of plastic surgery,” says Dr. Lakin, who is also Assistant Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. “It is my hope that residents, fellows and practicing plastic surgeons find the book to be an invaluable resource throughout their career.”

Plastic Surgery Review makes efficient use of study time, presenting topics in outline format for quick review and recall of information. Each chapter in the book was reviewed by experts in plastic surgery.
